Comfort Emmanson, the passenger at the centre of a recent altercation aboard an Ibom Air flight from Uyo to Lagos, on Friday appeared before the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) as investigations into the incident continued.

The NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, confirmed her appearance, noting that the Authority is working to ensure a fair and transparent process.

Achimugu said several NCAA directorates—including Aviation Security, Operations, Licensing and Training Standards, Legal, and Consumer Protection—are jointly handling the probe.

He explained that NCAA officials earlier met in Abuja with Julie Edwards and other Ibom Air crew members involved in the clash before Emmanson appeared with her lawyer.
“We have met with her. As we proceed, I will continue to provide updates,” Achimugu told Vanguard.
The incident, captured in a viral video, showed Emmanson in a heated exchange with airline staff that escalated upon arrival at the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos.
Although she was charged to court, the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) initially placed her on a lifetime no-fly ban, a decision that was later rescinded alongside the withdrawal of the case.
