Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has restated that his administration will not hold talks with bandits, insisting that those responsible for violence in the state will face security forces rather than negotiations.

His position came during visits to communities recently attacked, where he pledged both immediate relief and long-term recovery plans.

The governor toured Kagara, Dan Isa, and Kasuwar Daji in Kauran Namoda Local Government Area as part of an ongoing outreach to areas affected by recent violence. He met with residents, offered condolences, and assured them that his government was committed to restoring safety and normalcy.

Lawal said security remains his top priority and that all available resources are being deployed to protect lives and property across Zamfara. He stressed that his no-negotiation policy with bandits has been in place since the beginning of his tenure and will remain unchanged, citing the lack of remorse and sincerity from those behind the attacks.
During the visit, he also observed the poor state of roads leading to these rural areas. He promised that rehabilitation work would begin to improve access, boost local trade, and strengthen emergency response.
The trip reflects his administration’s approach of combining firm security action with infrastructure development in order to reduce the vulnerability of communities facing repeated attacks.
