The Ogun State Government has dismissed reports that it sealed the properties of former governor Otunba Gbenga Daniel.

Speaking at a press briefing in Abeokuta on Monday, Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Tunji Odunlami, said a notice of sealing issued by the Sagamu Zonal office of the State Planning and Development Permit Authority on August 11 had been withdrawn.

Odunlami urged Daniel to visit the Sagamu office to regularise documents for his properties, explaining that the move was part of ongoing urban renewal exercises under Governor Dapo Abiodun, aimed at auditing government lands in Sagamu GRA.

He stressed that the verification process, which had already been carried out in Abeokuta and is ongoing in Sagamu and Ijebu-Ode, would soon extend to Ota and Ilaro. The exercise, he said, covers houses, schools, hospitals, and commercial buildings, and requires owners to present valid permits for inspection.
Odunlami maintained that the process was routine, transparent, and not targeted at any individual, noting that Daniel had yet to present his documents or send a representative. He added that the state enforces its physical planning laws daily, guided solely by legal provisions and public interest.
