The All Progressives Congress in Oyo State has expressed sorrow over the sudden death of Shooting Stars Sports Club assistant coach, Akin Olowookere.
Olowookere collapsed during the team’s Monday morning training session in Ogun State, where they were preparing for a football match scheduled for later in the day. He was confirmed dead shortly after the incident, leaving players, staff, and fans in shock.
The party described his passing as a major blow to the club, noting that it came at a time when his expertise and commitment were most needed to revive the fortunes of the Oluyole Warriors.
Olowookere was part of a newly assembled coaching team expected to turn around the club’s poor run over the past two decades. His dedication and energy had raised hopes for better days ahead for the team.
The APC extended its condolences to Olowookere’s family, the management and staff of Shooting Stars, and supporters of the club worldwide. The party prayed for strength for his loved ones to cope with the loss and for his soul to rest in peace.
