The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has raised the pump price of petrol at its retail stations, with Abuja residents now paying N955 per litre, up from N890.

This marks a N65 increase, even as the company has yet to officially comment on the change.

A price check by Tribune Online showed that several outlets in Abuja’s Central Business District, Wuse, Berger, Nyanya, and Mararaba in Nasarawa State have already adjusted their meters to reflect the new price.
Earlier in the day, some independent marketers were still selling at slightly lower rates. At AYA, MRS filling station sold petrol for N850, while AA Rano nearby sold it for N920. In Mararaba, NIPCO, Zamson, and AYM Shafa pegged their prices at N920 per litre.
The new pump price appears linked to Dangote Refinery’s recent increase in ex-depot petrol price to N858 per litre, up from N820.
