He made the appeal at the APC National Executive Committee meeting held at the State House in Abuja, where he urged the governors to get closer to the people and respond to their needs. Tinubu used the phrase “wet the grass small” to describe the need to ease the pressure on ordinary Nigerians and show visible progress in the states.

He told the governors that while the party is still enjoying strong support, especially after recent endorsements by stakeholders, they must not take it for granted. He said the real work lies in meeting the expectations of those who voted them into power.

Tinubu pointed out that many citizens are worried about food prices, lack of opportunities, and general hardship. He stressed that the APC must prove itself through action, not just party loyalty. He reminded party leaders and governors that his administration is working to secure the country’s food supply and boost the economy, but that states must also do their part.

He called for stronger coordination among party officials and governors to ensure that every policy makes life better for Nigerians. He also thanked the governors for their continued support and asked them to back up their loyalty with service and impact that people can feel in their communities.

According to Tinubu, the time for promises is over, and the APC must now focus on results.
