Governor Ademola Adeleke has relaxed the curfew imposed on the Osun communities of Ifon, Ilobu, and Erin Osun following a return to calm after recent communal clashes.

In a statement issued Saturday in Osogbo, the state Commissioner for Information, Kolapo Alimi, announced that the curfew would now run from 12 midnight to 4 a.m., down from the previous 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., effective July 19, 2025.

“As peace returns to Ifon, Ilobu, and Erin Osun, I’m pleased to adjust the curfew. It will now hold from 12 midnight to 4 a.m. daily,” the governor said.

Adeleke thanked traditional rulers—the Olufon, Olobu, and Elerin—as well as local leaders for their role in restoring order and urged them to continue their peacebuilding efforts.
He also called on the 100-member Boundaries Resolution Committee set up for the three communities to hasten its work in resolving lingering disputes.
