The Katsina State Government has declared Monday, July 14, 2025, a work-free day in honour of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who died in London on Sunday after a prolonged illness.

The announcement was made by the Secretary to the State Government, Abdullahi Garba Faskari, in a statement released Sunday evening.

According to the statement, the holiday is meant to give residents an opportunity to mourn and pray for Buhari, who hailed from Daura in Katsina State.
