The Federal High Court in Abuja has scheduled June 19, 2025, for the arraignment of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan on charges of alleged defamation.
The federal government filed the case against the senator over statements she reportedly made against Senate President Godswill Akpabio and former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello.
The arraignment was initially set for June 3 but was postponed due to procedural delays.
The charges stem from claims made by Akpabio and Bello, prompting legal action from the federal government.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan has maintained her innocence and expressed confidence that justice will prevail.
