Taraba Governor Makes Surprise Political Move
Agbu Kefas has officially left the Peoples Democratic Party for the All Progressives Congress, marking a major political change in Taraba State.
The governor completed the move on Saturday in Jalingo, where he was formally welcomed into the ruling party.
The defection ceremony was led by Vice President Kashim Shettima, who received Kefas on behalf of President Bola Tinubu.
Party leaders described the move as timely, saying it reflects a shared focus on unity and development, both for Taraba State and the country at large.
The APC leadership said the governor’s decision strengthens the party in the state and creates new opportunities for growth.
They noted that Kefas has shown an understanding of Taraba’s diverse communities and urged residents to support his administration as he continues his work.
In his remarks, the governor said his decision was guided by the interest of the state rather than personal gain.
He pledged to work with all stakeholders, deepen cooperation with the Federal Government, and open Taraba to investment and long-term development.
